This system features a downward water cooled blown film line that is well-suited for those seeking a high output co-extrusion line. With Alpha Glacier, customers are able to see and feel the difference with the improvement of the optical properties.

As the film is extruded from the die, it comes in contact with water to quench the film. In contrast, if the film is cooled very slowly, the heated film is susceptible to stretching and tearing. This compromises the quality of the film and integrity of the line. If these either of these problems arise, these disruptions become very costly. By cooling the film quickly with water, these issues are averted, maximizing production time and increasing production capacity. With Alpha Glacier, the integrity of the bubble improves and prevents line interruptions during processing, promoting economic viability.

The quality of the film produced from the Alpha Glacier line improves substantially. The fact that the film stretches very little during this process helps to promote the material properties. Optical properties improve as clarity and transparency increase while haze is reduced. This is a highly valued property, especially for food and medical applications where the appearance of the contents must be preserved.
