Chattanooga Goodwill’s first store and truck | Chattanooga Goodwill Industries opened as the first in Tennessee and the 25th in the world. The organization opened at 329 East Main Street, and under the direction of Claude Whitehead, Sr. supplied work to the “unfortunate, crippled and down and out persons of the city.”
