The Alpha Marathon stand at the NPE show last week in Orlando hosted dozens of plastic industry leaders interested in understanding the benefits that Alpha’s patented Nano-Layer Die Technology can bring to their business.
The Alpha Marathon team of Michael Taylor, Jim Ley, Isaac Rojas, and Mark Ryhorski spent much of the 5 day exhibition hosting existing Alpha Marathon customers and meeting new potential customers who had pre-scheduled meetings at the stand, or who were drawn in by the impressive 2X Nano-Layer die on display.
This production die stands an impressive 6 feet (1.85m) tall on its display stand and was configured to extrude films with 150 nano-layers – meaning that on a typical 30 micron film gauge each layer measures only 200 nanometers!
The 2X Nano-Layer die is available in annulus diameters of up to 500mm (20”), which with Blow-Up Ratios of up to 5.0 possible means it can deliver films with lay-flats up to 4.0 m wide. The 2X die is rated for up to 680 kgs/hr (1500 lbs/hr) of output.
NPE 2015 built on the successful launch of the pre-production Alpha Marathon Nano-Layer Die Technology at NPE2012.
Now with several Nano-Layer dies shipped and in operation, and with dozens of companies having already visited Alpha Marathon’s test labs to launch Nano-Layer evaluation programmes, 2015 is starting off very positively as the launch year of "production" Nano-Layer Die Technology.
If you weren’t able to make it to NPE this year you can see Alpha’s Nano-Layer Die Technology at the Plast 2015 show in Milan May 5-9th, and at Chinaplas 2015 in Guangzhou, China May 20-23rd.
