ArabPlast is the pre-eminent plastics industry trade show in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the 2015 edition of the biennial exposition was no exception. Industry participants from through-out the Middle East, Africa, and as far as India and Pakistan flocked to the show held in Dubai from January 10th to 13th. Organizers expected to exceed ArabPlast 2013’s attendance of nearly 30,000 visitors.
Once again Alpha Marathon participated in ArabPlast this year, showing the company’s commitment to the fast growing MENA region. The Alpha booth attracted a constant flow of visitors eager to learn more about Alpha Marathon’s broad range of film extrusion line offerings and its “customer custom” approach to tailoring its products and support services to specific customer needs. This tailored approach is of high interest to customers seeking to optimize their existing operations and finding that the increasing focus on “standard machines” from other extrusion line OEMs is too restrictive to meeting their needs.
Also of high interest at the Alpha Marathon stand was the company’s new “Nano-layer” die technology – a unique, proprietary new technology that moves co-extrusion from 3,5,7 and 9 layers to film structures of 29 to 77 and more distinct layers. The new film structures enabled by Nano-layer die technology create significant benefits to extruders and end-users, including:
A number of visitors were highly interested in Alpha’s Nano-layer technology as they are actively looking for new, innovative extrusion technologies to gain competitive advantage in their markets and increase operating margins. Several invited the Alpha team to visit their facilities and consult on the application of Nano-layer technology to their operations, which the Alpha team was happy to do, visiting 3 companies during their time in the MENA region.
ArabPlast 2015 was a great success for Alpha Marathon, introducing the company to large number of prospective new customers in this very fast growing market area. The company looks forward to several new line installations in the region – and to ArabPlast 2017.
