Two hotels and one restaurant received failing scores this week across the Tennessee Valley.
The Fairfield Inn and Suites Breakfast in Cleveland received a 60, the Hilton Garden Inn in Dalton received a 61 for their hot tub and the pool received a 65 and Taqueria El Rey #3 in Dalton received a 68.
In Cleveland, the inspector found the person in charge was not aware of any health policy at the Fairfield Inn and Suites.
The inspector said there was not any hot water or paper towels at the handwashing sink.
40 pounds of sausage gravy had to be thrown away after the cans were found very damaged.
The inspector reminded the person in charge of the food safety training class available in Bradley County.
At the Hilton Garden Inn in Dalton the inspector found issues in both the pool and the hot tub.
There was no disinfectant in them and the pH level was too high. There was also not a daily record keeping log of the levels.
The inspector noted the emergency phone in the pool area was not working.
The most recent health inspection report could not be found.
According to the inspector there wasn’t a thermometer in the pool or hot tub.
On Walnut Avenue in Dalton, the inspector found a bag of beans stored on the floor at Taqueria El Rey.
The utility sink was not working and the sink was full of items the employees were not using. The restaurant said they dump their water outside because it is not working.
The microwave seen by the inspector was dirty and needed cleaned.
A slightly open container of bleach was found by the fountain drink machine.
The inspector found the hand sink did not have hot water, soap or paper towels.
