Chattanooga Christian School held a robotics event on Saturday.
Almost 40 teams participated in the event.
The teams represented several different schools across Tennessee, including a handful from the Chattanooga area.
TVA brought their 'Boston Dynamics' robotics dog Spot to show the students how they are using robotics in the working world.
Students were asked to brainstorm an idea for a robot to create then to show it off in front of the live audience.
Matthew Monahan, the Chattanooga Christian School Robotics Coach, explains that all the creations are made uniquely to solve a different problem.
"You'll see some robots, make mainly defensive robots that are going to push other robots. Some make them with these big claws that can lift up. Some are picking up things and stacking them. Others, they are making a big shopping cart robot, where they're just picking them up and putting them in, so it's super cool to see these young minds and all the different ways that they decide to solve a problem."
The middle and high school students even programmed the robots.
