Five seniors at CSAS are working to win a $400,000 grant that would improve their buildings energy efficiency.
They have applied for the grant from TVA and EPB. School officials say they are the only grand applicants that have put their students in charge of the application and education initiatives.
The group planned an Energy Day on Tuesday, Dec. 19th. Energy related activities were planned for the whole day with different curriculum for elementary, middle, and high schoolers.
The students say it is rewarding to see their hard work pay off.
"It kind of feels surreal to hear and see people like playing the games that we made, watching the videos that we assign to them, and to get all these guest speakers and community partners coming and kind of saying how great of an initiative they think this is," says student Aarav Patel.
We will let you know if the students win the $400,000 grant.
