If you’re a fan of local high school basketball then a new name was definitely put on your radar last season. In fact, you may have even gone to see her play. Because it’s not often an eighth grader bursts on the scene like Aubriyana Camp did with the Chattanooga Christian School.
It’s also not often a player enters their freshman season as a returning all-state selection. Camp has the makings of a bona fide star, but it hasn’t come without issue.
She says she often battles with her confidence and blocking out the noise. Wise beyond her years, Camp understands the landscape around her when it comes to other people’s expectations. For her, her expectations for herself outweigh it all.
She’s also laid the groundwork for another eighth grader who burst on the scene this season. Momo Moore has been the talk of the town, much like Camp, during her eighth-grade season at the varsity level. The two have been playing ball together since they were much younger and embrace their opportunity to be a formidable dynamic duo in the Chattanooga area.
Bri Camp is looking to build a legacy at CCS. A legacy that’s being forged well before most high school athletes.
